The Threshing Barn Project

Posted on 03rd May 2017 | by mattw@viewcreative.co.uk

Join us in May for a series of free heritage building workshops and open access days!

During the month of May we are repairing our beautiful 170 year old stone threshing barn, one of the curtilage agricultural buildings of grade 2* listed Plas Tirion.  The repairs will be carried out using traditional techniques and materials and we are inviting people to join us for a series of free workshops and open access days to view the work, speak to the craftsmen and see them at work. You can even  assist them, we have available a limited number of free training places, to work alongside the expert craftsmen and learn specialist skills for the repair of heritage buildings.  Please see other course listings for places in Heritage Carpentry, Hot Mixing and applying Lime and Traditional Slate Roofing.

We are opening up the site to the public in a series of open access days – 15th, 22nd & 29th May – no need to book just turn up anytime between the hours of 10.00 and 3.00.

All are welcome to come and talk to the specialist craftsmen and see them at work, watch the progress of the traditional repair of a beautiful example of vernacular architecture and learn about our work here at NBC.
