Work alongside a team of heritage roofing craftsmen and learn how to repair the traditional random oak-pegged slate roof of the threshing barn.
Book soon as only two places are available per day!
During the month of May we are repairing our beautiful 170 year old stone threshing barn, one of the curtilage agricultural buildings of grade 2* listed Plas Tirion. The repairs will be carried out using traditional techniques and materials and we are inviting people to join us for a series of free workshops and open access days to view the work, speak to the craftsmen and see them at work.
We have available a limited number of free training places, to work alongside the expert craftsmen and learn specialist skills for the repair of heritage buildings. Please see other course listings also for places in Heritage Carpentry and Hot Mixing and applying Lime Mortars.
This is an opportunity to learn valuable skills and be a part of the traditional repair of a beautiful example of vernacular Snowdonian architecture.
This event is fully booked.
